People have been asking me what having a baby on the boat is like. Laundry. Lots of laundry.
Cruising
It’s been quite a year, and I’m due for posting another entry. We’ve sailed more than 5,000 miles since January. I am amazed we’ve gone this far.
Back in January we were in back in Puerto Escondido, Mexico on the east Baja coast. We got scuba certified, after somewhat deteriorating conditions the first day of our lesson. We also enjoyed a visit from Margot’s mother.
I’m happy to announce that after considerable effort, our sailing website is updated with new content! You can see it at: https://favignana.voyage/. Featured is one of my favorite photos, which is why it’s so prominent.
Please check it out, we are quite proud of it.
Speedy wraps are a delicious substitute when tortillas aren’t available. We got the recipe from another cruiser and it’s been invaluable at helping cravings for tacos.
We’re currently on passage to Tahiti. Hirifa was quite the happening anchorage. Fakarava was fun, but it’s time for another prenatal appointment and to get the lay of the land on the most populous island in the country.
Two days ago, we arrived at Fakarava, in the Tuamotus.
The 540 mile passage for the most part was fine. We had steady winds for three of the four days, and the waves were 1.5–2.5 meters. I was able to nap like a champion. It was important for us to get to the pass at slack tide, when there was the least amount of current when entering the atoll. That meant we had to motor nearly all of one day to stay on schedule.
First Blog Entry in a Long Time
The art of keeping a personal website up to date.
This is my first entry in a while. A long while. That could be why the title is lackluster.
As our time in the Marquesas Islands draws to a close, I am at a loss of words to express how beautiful it is.
