Some spinnaker sailing and some motoring

Yesterday we ran with the spinnaker for several hours, it was perfect conditions for it. I did not expect the appropriate conditions on this passage.

Today, I’m enjoying one of my few special (non-alcoholic) drinks. I bought a few sodas to break up the passage. I made breakfast burritos again today.

We checked the voltage regulator, but it can’t be adjusted up to the range that we need. No matter, the inverter is working fine for now. For the most part, we’ve had a surplus of power. I’ll order the proper voltage one when we’re back at port.

The winds died to 1-3kn, so we’re motoring. We have been seeing a lot of trash in the water, usually it appears to be some sort of fishing float. While we were motoring, we came across a float and decided to grab it. there were a ton of gooseneck barnacles and tiny crabs. Alas, one less piece of ocean debris.

Anyway, we’ve got 1665 miles to go. The forecasts are saying that the winds should fill in once we get closer to °40 north. Crew morale is still good. Watch schedules are good. The crew is eating quite well.

Until next time.

A fairly unexciting show of our spinnaker, with calm seas.

Tae with our freshly acquired float.
